Early Help

At New Mills Primary School, we understand the huge importance of family life and the impact it has on a child’s education. We therefore work closely with Louise Coker (Take Part Wellbeing CIC),, to offer support to all our families who may be struggling.

Please see below for more information about how Early Help could support your family.

What is Early Help?

Early Help means taking action early to provide support to children, young people and their families who are facing challenges. It’s voluntary and relies on your agreement to participate. Early Help can prevent problems from getting worse.

Who is Early Help for?

Early Help is for children, young people and families of all ages and backgrounds. It is especially helpful when families are experiencing difficulties such as:

  • Parenting challenges
  • Relationship problems
  • Financial worries
  • Housing issues
  • Health concerns
  • Educational difficulties

… or any other issue that is impacting family life.

How can Early Help support you?

Louise and Take Part Wellbeing CIC provide a broad spectrum of support services, including:

  • Tailored advice and guidance
  • In-home practical assistance
  • Connections to specialised services
  • Facilitated support groups
  • Guidance with accessing benefits and financial aid
  • Assistance in locating appropriate housing
  • Support for children’s educational growth and development

They ensure their service offerings align with Derbyshire’s Threshold guidelines to meet the specific needs of each family.

How to access Early Help?

Anyone can make a referral to Early Help at Take Part, including families themselves. The process involves an assessment of your needs and the development of a plan to address them. Your involvement will be at the heart of this process.

What happens next?

Once a referral is made, the Early Help team at Take Part Wellbeing CIC will engage with you to understand your unique situation. By collaborating with Derbyshire’s Family Support processes, they develop a personalised plan that highlights your goals and the steps necessary to achieve them. This plan is flexible and evolves with your needs, ensuring ongoing positive outcomes.

By working in tandem with Derbyshire’s Threshold and Family Support processes, Take Part Wellbeing CIC is committed to fostering a supportive environment where families can thrive. They prioritise the involvement of families in every step, making sure that the support provided is both meaningful and impactful.

If things feel difficult at home or school and you’re not sure where to start, Early Help can make a real difference.
